Beauty Pie: First Impressions
A couple of weeks ago, I finally took the plunge and made my first beauty pie order. Iβve seen it raved about throughout the blogosphere for a while now and Iβve been eager to get my mitts on some bits, so as I was in desperate need of a new serum, I thought Iβd give them a go. I used to think the concept behind beauty pie was quite complex, but itβs really not once youβve got your head around it!
To sum it up, you pay a monthly subscription fee to beauty pie (this can be as little as Β£5 a month) and based on the subscription level you choose, you get a certain amount that youβre allowed to spend on the site. The little trick is, the amount you have to spend isnβt based on the price you buy the products at, itβs based on the value of them. So I started off with the Β£5 subscription which gives me a value of Β£50 to spend. So if I choose to buy a moisturiser thatβs worth Β£50 (but it doesnβt cost that much!), Iβll use up my spend for that month. Letβs say the moisturiser costs me Β£10, Iβll pay Β£15 in total including my monthly subscription fee, but Iβll be getting Β£50 worth of product. I hope that makes sense?! If not, there are plenty of other blog posts explaining how it works or you can read about it on the beauty pie website itself.Β
The appealing side of beauty pie is that youβre getting products with ingredients identical to those from the luxury brands you can buy for £££ yet youβll have that same quality in a product for way less. We all love to treat ourselves to a bit of luxe and the real thing every now and again, but sometimes you canβt justify the spend, so this way you can still have amazing products for less. Now, letβs get into the two products I pickedβ¦
I only picked two products to begin with, firstly because I only went for the Β£5 subscription with the Β£50 spend, so generally this would only get me one product or two smaller ones, but I had a sign up deal that gave me an extra Β£50 to spend. This allowed me to buy two products that valued Β£100 in total which was nice! I could have gone and done a huge haul (which was very tempting) but I didnβt need much so there was no point. I mainly needed a serum as my skin has been really dry lately and serums are my saviour but Iβd completely ran out, so that was the first thing on my list.
I picked the Superdrops High Intensity Hydration Serum that contains hyaluronic acid along with loads of other hydrating ingredients to give your skin allll the glow! Iβve been using this morning and evening since it arrived and my skin has never felt so good. It sinks into my skin so easily and leaves it feeling so soft and hydrated. Remember that I mentioned my skin has been really dry lately? Well not anymore! My makeup was applying horribly and now it always goes on beautifully and sets so well. I swear by a good serum and for only Β£10 this one is an absolute steal.
The second product I picked was actually the Soul Providers Re-Energising Dry Oil Sugar Scrub which sounds heavenly, but unfortunately after I made my order I got a refund as it was out of stock. I was a bit gutted as I was really looking forward to this, and Iβd heard such good things on a couple of other blogs but I can always get this next time instead! Because Iβd been so excited to try it out, I ended up going for a really similar product and picked the Super Healthy Skin Nourishing Body Polish which sounded just as dreamy β and it really is. With nourishing omega 3 and omega 6 oils, mango and papaya enzymes, vitamin E, coconut milk, orange and lemon essences and lots of other good stuff, itβs as gorgeous as it sounds. It smells citrusy and delicious and it leaves my skin feeling fantastic. I come out of the shower with such dreamy soft skin that I end up wanting to use it daily. My favourite part about this scrub is that the oils stay on the skin post-shower so it saves me having to moisturise after Iβve used it which is definitely a winner with me. Itβs perfect for busy mamas! I will definitely repurchase this as Iβm not sure I can live without it nowβ¦
Overall my first impressions of beauty pie are that itβs absolutely fab and Iβll definitely be keeping my subscription so that I can try out some more bits. I love that they do both makeup and skincare too, so I can feed both of my obsessions and mix it up a bit! If you fancy trying out beauty pie, you can use my referral link to get your first month free, as well as a Β£50 top-up on your spending limit. This is exactly what I got when I signed up and itβs such a good deal.
Have you tried out Beauty Pie yet? What do you think?
